Amy Carroll > 6.21.07 - Happy First Day of Summer!

This dragonfly sat still for me for at least 5 minutes while I took his picture. And he didn't even seem to mind how close I would get to him with my lens.

Amy Carroll > 6.20.07 - This is my little brother Brad. He was over and wanted a picture for his MySpace page. There are some old, brick buildings near my house so we went over there to do some cool urban-like shots.

Amy Carroll > 6.19.07 - A Great Blue Heron. High in the trees.

Amy Carroll > 6.18.07 - You know how they say you start to look like your pets after a while? Well, I think that my husband may be spending a little too much time with our dog Tanner.

Amy Carroll > 6.17.07 - This afternoon I did a shoot with kids, dogs, and their families. I had a hard time picking my Picture of the Day in fact! But because I often feature people, I thought that today I would feature Buffy, Zoe, and Zachery. Three poodles who were very warm and not really in the mood for a group picture. But they obliged, for a moment, so that I could get a few of the three of them sitting down at the park together. And because their owner is an avid follower if my 'Picture of the Day' feature, I thought she might enjoy seeing them featured (hi Marylin!).

And Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there!

Amy Carroll > 6.16.07 - This morning I had an engagement shoot at Fallasburg Park. The scenery, weather, and couple couldn't have been more lovely.

On my way home from this location (Lowell) I saw a bear. A baby bear that had been hit by a car on the side of the road. I couldn't believe that I had actually seen a bear just driving down a local road! Talk about a shock on a Saturday morning.

Amy Carroll > 6.15.07 - Congratulations to Genevieve and Charlie who were married today!

Yes, that is the bride and groom in the middle of a busy downtown street. I'm actually laying down in the middle of the street while my assistant helped block traffic for a minute. Anything for a great photo!

Amy Carroll > 6.14.07 - I had an awful lot of fun have this little girl at the studio this morning. How cute are those cheeks!

Amy Carroll > 6.13.07 - This afternoon I enjoyed some time with my friend and her kids at a local beach. This picture was taken just as we arrived and they were taking in all the fun they would soon be participating in. I wasn't as adventureous. I spent the majority of my time catching some sun and reading magazines. A perfect summer afternoon in my book.

Amy Carroll > 6.12.07 - This evening I headed back to my favorite ally for an engagement shoot with Jennifer and Brett. There is something so appealing about old bricks and buildings!

Amy Carroll > 6.11.07 - The next star of Wimbledon!

I know...two posts in a row featuring my husband. But it's the only thing that I took pictures of today so it was either this or my neighbor sitting in the kiddie pool in his backyard. Trust me, the choice was obvious.

Amy Carroll > 6.10.07 - This afternoon my husband and I went sailing for the afternoon with some friends. The above picture is him helping our friend navigate out of the marina.

There is nothing more relaxing than being out in the water with good friends, good food and a cold beer. This, right here, is why I love summer.

Amy Carroll > 6.9.07 - Congratulations to Jake and Erin who were married today!

A few months ago I did an engagement session with this couple in a back ally in downtown Grand Rapids. They liked the outcome so much that they requested to come back to do some wedding pictures after the ceremony. We were able to really get some unique and amazing photographs utilizing all of the old brick and the stark contrast between a beautifully dressed bride and groom and the grimy appearance of the ally.

Amy Carroll > 6.7.07 - This evening I spent a few hours out at Rosy Mound dunes near Grand Haven. I had two shoots out here this evening, the second being an engagement shoot with the couple you see above. We took a hike through the woods on our way down to the beach and stopped along the way to get some shots in the lush, green woods. And with the bride-to-be's favorite color being green, I thought she might enjoy a picture with so much of her favorite color surrounding her.
